4 Moving Tips
Moving to a new place can be made easier through proper planning and preparation. Once a new place has been selected and a day has been picked, then things can begin to be packed up and ready to go.

1. Get Rid of Trash
There is no point at all in bringing things along that are just going to be tossed out upon arrival. Take the opportunity to go through each room of the current living space and clear out everything that can get thrown away. If there is a lot, or if the objects are large, then contact a company for a special trash pickup Los Altos.
2. Donate
If an item is no longer needed but is in good condition, then it can be donated. Donating is a great way to pass on items that would otherwise clutter up a dump. Food banks gladly accept donations of boxed and canned products that are not expired. Local thrift shops or donation centers can be contacted to see if they will accept the items. Some stores have a service in place that sends drivers out to pick up items directly from the donor’s home.
3. Pack Appropriately
When packing up to move, it is an excellent idea to pack items purposefully and label the boxes correctly. A color-coding system can work, with each room a different color so that people handling the boxes know at a glance where to take them. Do not overpack boxes, as they may break or become unliftable.
4. Arrange Pet and Child Care
Pets and small children who are too young to help may be better off spending the day with a family member or friend. They can become overwhelmed by the chaos and get in the way of people who are trying to haul heavy or fragile things.
By getting rid of unneeded items, packing things ahead of time and making sure that any pets or children who need to be watched are properly supervised, a lot of the stress can be alleviated on moving day.
